Cornucopia Natural Foods will be opening a new location at the growing Station Yards mixed-use development in Ronkonkoma.

The health food market leased a 6,948-square-foot retail space at Station Yards, and construction of the store is expected to begin this fall, according to the developer Tritec Real Estate.

This will be the second location for Cornucopia, which has had a store in Sayville since 1976. The natural foods purveyor also features a menu of sandwiches, salads, smoothies and more.

“Starting as a dishwasher at Cornucopia in 2006 and purchasing the business in 2023, my goal has always been to grow the business and better serve the community,” Drew Alexander, owner of Cornucopia, said in the statement. “We aim to provide our customers with the healthiest and most eco-friendly options possible while creating the best workplace for our staff. Moving to Station Yards will help us be even more environmentally responsible and expand our outreach and charitable endeavors.”

Allen Boulos and Scott Schneider of Evernest Realty represented Cornucopia, while Maria Valanzano, Steve D’Orazio and Jake Horowitz from Colliers represented landlord Tritec in the lease transaction.

“Cornucopia will bring a fantastic, healthy, one-stop shop to your health food needs at Station Yards,” Valanzano said in the statement. “It will be extremely beneficial to the residents and local community to have access to a healthy food market at their doorstep. Train riders can also take advantage of the convenience of stopping in for a pre-ride snack or drink before they conduct their travel.”

Boulos said his firm is thrilled to bring the tenant to the mixed-use development.

“Cornucopia will provide the community with high quality, sustainable food options, further enhancing the convenience and lifestyle offerings for Tritec’s residents and visitors making it an exciting addition to the diverse tenant mix,” he said.

When completed, Station Yards will transform 53 acres around the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road station, bringing 1,450 apartments, 360,000 square feet of office space and 195,000 square feet of retail space, most of which will surround a 10,000-square-foot village green.

Cornucopia is the latest addition to the growing roster of restaurants and retail tenants at the sprawling Ronkonkoma development.

“We are delighted to welcome Cornucopia Natural Foods to Station Yards,” Jimmy Coughlan, an executive vice president at Tritec, said in the statement. “Their commitment to quality and community aligns perfectly with our vision for this development. We are confident that Cornucopia will be a tremendous asset to the residents and visitors of Station Yards.”
