Swiss watchmaker Swatch has opened its first store on Long Island.
The company opened a 1,051-square-foot location in the Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City last week.
The new Swatch store is the chain’s sixth in the state. The company has five locations in Manhattan, including 711 Fifth Ave., Grand Central Station, 132 Spring St., 1535 Broadway and 185 Greenwich St.
Founded in 1983, Swatch is a subsidiary of The Swatch Group, the world’s largest watch company that has more than 30,000 employees in 50 countries. Other brands under The Swatch Group umbrella include Omega, Tissot, Hamilton, Longines, Harry Winston, Rado and more. The Swatch Group reported 2023 revenue of $7.88 billion.
The new Swatch store at Roosevelt Field carries a wide variety of the colorful and artistic watch collections the brand is famous for, including Swatch Neon; Bioceramic styles What If, MoonSwatch and Scuba Fifty Fathoms; Swatch Art Journey; The Simpsons; Swatch x Verdy; Caramellissima; and C-Black. There is also an area dedicated to Flik Flak, the watch brand for kids.
The Roosevelt Field Swatch store, located on the mall’s upper level, is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
