YogaSix, a national brand of fitness boutiques, is opening a new studio in Lake Grove.

The 2,480-square-foot YogaSix in the Smith Grove Shopping Center at 139 D Alexander Ave. is the chain’s second on Long Island, following the 1,846-square-foot studio that opened in Nov. 2023 at The Shoppes at Country Pointe in Plainview.

The new Lake Grove studio is owned and operated by YogaSix franchisee Cristina Givelechian, a yoga enthusiast who emigrated here from Romania 31 years ago. Givelechian brings an extensive business background and entrepreneurial spirit to her new enterprise after spending three decades in the commercial banking industry.

“Throughout my life, I’ve tried all kinds of fitness concepts, but yoga was the one I always came back to,” Givelechian said in a written statement. “For many people, yoga isn’t something they would typically consider, but the more I talk to them, the more excited they get as they begin to realize the amazing benefits yoga offers. I can’t wait to continue spreading the word about yoga and sharing its incredible benefits with the amazing communities in Lake Grove and surrounding areas.”

YogaSix offers a variety of yoga classes, from deep stretching, to stress relief, to high intensity training. The brand’s six formats include Y6 101, Y6 Restore, Y6 Slow Flow, Y6 Hot, Y6 Power and Y6 Sculpt Flow, with each class catering to different fitness levels and strengthening yoga’s mind-body connection. Monthly memberships are available for four, eight or unlimited visits per month, and there is also the option to drop-in.

Opening on Friday, August 30, the Lake Grove YogaSix will hold a grand opening celebration on Friday, Oct. 11.

While the Lake Grove studio is owned by Givelechian and the Plainview studio is owned by Jessica Jackson, a husband-and-wife franchise team will soon be opening three more YogaSix locations on Long Island.

Hemant and Amisha Patel will be opening an 1,878-square-foot YogaSix in the Huntington Commons shopping center; a 2,331-square-foot studio in the Northport Plaza shopping center in Elwood; and a 2,077-square-foot studio at B2K’s new Boardwalk mixed-use development in Long Beach.

The all-in cost to open a YogaSix studio ranges from $294,836 to $499,236, according to the company’s franchise information. YogaSix is one of 10 fitness brands under the Xponential Fitness umbrella, which includes Stretch Lab, Club Pilates, Rumble, Pure Barre, BFT, Cyclebar and more.

Daniel Glazer and Joanne Argenti of RIPCO Real Estate represented YogaSix in all of the Long Island leases, while Glazer and his RIPCO colleagues Tom Rettaliata and Jimmy Valenti represented landlord Urban Edge in the Huntington lease; Glazer and his RIPCO colleague Jeremy Isaacs represented landlord BLDG Management in the Elwood lease; and RIPCO’s Jason Sobel, Juliana Chiarelli and Greg Batista represented landlord B2K Development in the Long Beach lease transaction. Landlord Cosentino Realty was self-represented in the Lake Grove lease.
