Growing fast-casual restaurant chain Tex’s Chicken & Burgers is coming to Commack.
The chain purchased the 1,750-square-foot building on .80 acres at 2055A Jericho Turnpike for $3 million. The property is currently leased to Starbucks, which will be relocating to a new store being built next door.
Tex’s Chicken & Burgers plans to construct a new restaurant on the site once Starbucks vacates, according to the broker on the deal. Tex’s has existing Long Island locations in Centereach, East Islip, Hicksville, Levittown, Selden and Elmont.
The new 2,500-square-foot Starbucks is being built on the 1.07-acre property at 2061 Jericho Turnpike that was formerly occupied by a Mattress Firm store, which was demolished. The coffee chain’s new Commack location is expected to open by the end of the year or early next year.
Jesse Tufariello of Silber Investment Properties represented the buyer, 2055A Property LLC (Tex’s Chicken & Burgers), as well as the seller, 2055A Jericho LLC, in the Commack sales transaction.
Russel Helbling of Katz & Associates represented Starbucks, while the landlord, 2061 Jericho LLC, was self-represented in the Commack lease transaction.
