Breeze Airways is expanding service at three airports in the New York region, including Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip.
In Islip, the airline is adding nonstop service to Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida, on Thursdays and Sundays, beginning Nov. 21.
Angie Carpenter, supervisor of the Town of Islip, which owns the airport, welcomed the expanded service.
“In addition to providing comfortable, convenient, affordable flights for travelers to and from the Long Island region, this expanded service highlights the airport’s and Breeze Airways’ strategic role in regional transportation and economic development,” Carpenter said in a news release about service to Sarasota
The airline is also debuting service at Newark Liberty International Airport in November with nonstop flights to Charleston, WV, and adding flights to Sarasota-Bradenton out of Westchester County Airport.
“Newark marks our first airport in New Jersey, and our fourth airport in the greater New York City area,” David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO, said in the news release. “We’re excited to continue our expansion from New York with new service to West Virginia and Florida, along with our affordable but elevated product.”
