Blythe Danner will be hosting the 40th Anniversary Short Film Concert at Wainscott-based LTV Studios on Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m. The program is part of Asbury Shorts USA, a New York City-based short-film exhibition and travel show.
LTV Studios is the East End public access television station, which has turned to the arts and entertainment as a growth strategy. In addition to the government and school board meetings it is contracted to air, LTV, a 40-year-old station in the Town of East Hampton, has begun adding music and cultural arts programs, including summer theater camps for children, exhibits and other initiatives.
In Wainscott, the evening will feature films on a cinema screen, and comprise short films from the past and present, and is recommended for ages 16 and over. On tap are a mix of short film comedy, drama and animation.
Asbury Shorts Concerts have screened at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Old Vic Theater in Chicago, Summer Stage in Central Park and the DGA Theater in Manhattan, the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, Alamo Draft House in Dallas, Royal Festival Hall in London, the Osprey Arts Center in Nova Scotia, Canada and The Vero Beach Museum of Art in Florida.
