October may be most famous for all the ghosts and goblins seen in front of houses across the country, but it’s also a great month for those of us with a sweet tooth. That’s because October 28th is National Chocolate Day. There are so many places to get chocolate near Nassau County and Suffolk County homes for sale that our REALTORS® thought it’d be great to share some of our favorites with you. Visit any of the shops listed below on National Chocolate Day or any other day of the year, and you won’t be disappointed.
- Chocolate Works Plainview – 371 S. Oyster Bay Road, Plainview, NY 11803
We don’t know where to start with the Chocolate Works Plainview shop. Their goal seems to be to cover the world in chocolate. They’re starting with strawberries, cherries, pretzels, and even Oreos. Of course, if your goal is to satisfy your sweet tooth for as long as possible, we’d suggest the Choc Box, approximately a pound and a half of premium chocolate selections, candy, and gourmet truffles. And you can’t leave without trying the Chocolate Smash Cupcake filled with gummy bears and mini-M&Ms. - North Fork Chocolate Company – 8700 Main Road, Mattituck, NY 11952
The owners of the North Fork Chocolate Company began their chocolate-filled journey in 2012. Since then, there’s been a lot of sweat and tears, but most of it’s been filled with chocolatey goodness. Just look at the many selections on their website, and you’ll see that they take great pride in offering high-quality chocolates in the form of candies, barks, cookies, tarts, pies, and so much more. They also have homemade ice cream, fudge, waffles, and organic coffee. Even better, most of the items they sell are made from scratch. - Bon Bons Chocolatier – 319 Main St., Huntington, NY 11743
Bon Bons Chocolatier has more than 50 varieties of chocolates to fit every indulgence and sweet tooth. This includes everything from creams, truffles, and fruits to nuts, mints, and marzipan. While you’re there, you might also want to check out their almond bark, peanut brittle, chocolate-covered pretzels, fudge, and toasted coconut & marshmallow. Another favorite of many visitors is their caramel popcorn and peanuts, the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Stop by after looking at these Huntington homes for sale. - Bluebird Chocolates – 8 Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay, NY 11771
After graduating at the top of her class at the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC, Owners Katya Witthuhn discovered her true calling in crafting fine, artisanal chocolates. Then, after diving into an apprenticeship, she opened Bluebird Chocolates; the rest is history. Each chocolatey delight is handcrafted with a sense of style and artistic excellence. These chocolates look so beautiful that you might be tempted to put them on a shelf instead of eating them. But that would be a travesty because they’re absolutely delicious. - Sayville Chocolatiers – 6 Main St, Sayville, NY 11782
Don’t let the fact that Sayville Chocolatier is the last on our list fool you. There’s definitely no last place on this list of chocolate perfectionists. This particular hotspot has been around for 40 years and offers a wide assortment of chocolates and candies. If the chocolate and truffle assortments don’t convince you, perhaps you’d like to try some of their delicious rock and gummy candy. These two worlds sometimes mix, too. One of our personal favorites is the chocolate-dipped gummy sharks.
Any of the hotspots listed above will surely satisfy your sweet tooth. Contact us today to find your dream home that will be just a hop, skip, and chocolatey jump from these delicious locations.
