Consigli Building Group, a family-run, employee-owned construction firm with a Long Island presence, has completed its acquisition of the New York and New Jersey operations of Lendlease, a global construction company.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though it included a portfolio of work valued at over $1.8 billion associated with under contract and preconstruction projects of Lendlease, an integrated real estate conglomerate headquartered in Sydney, Australia, according to a joint statement from the two firms. As a result, more than 400 people will transition to Consigli.

The acquisition provides increased value and services while continuing to deliver projects for hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and premier New York developers, according to the statement.

“Lendlease is the largest healthcare builder in New York City, and we are fortunate to bring on some of the most experienced healthcare and life science people in the New York and New Jersey metro area,” Anthony Consigli, CEO of Consigli Construction Co., Inc., said in the statement. “Lendlease’s large, complex project planning experience coupled with our local resources, tools and technologies will allow us to provide the stability and the flexible, nimble leadership needed to allow us to deliver the absolute best client service possible in an ever-changing construction world.”

Established in 1979, the Lendlease New York office is a major provider of construction services in the New York metropolitan area with expertise in healthcare, life sciences, residential and mixed-use developments. Its New York City projects include the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, Central Park Tower, Columbia University, the expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and the American Museum of Natural History, according to the statement.

“Consigli’s commitment to excellence and aligned values mean our people have found a great home at Consigli, and their expanding construction portfolio continues with exciting future opportunities,” Claire Johnston, CEO Americas, Lendlease, said in the statement.

Consigli Construction Co., Inc., was founded in 1905 and is a fifth-generation construction manager in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Caribbean. Consigli services clients across all markets, including academic, healthcare, life sciences, institutional, energy, corporate and federal. Consigli, which has 13 offices throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, delivers more than $3.1 billion in work annually. Consigli and Lendlease have a longstanding relationship and have worked as partners on many projects.

After selling its Ronkonkoma building last month, Consigli leased 2,068 square feet of office space at 445 Broadhollow Road in Melville, where it will relocate its Long Island operations.
