Following an extensive search, the Massapequa School District Board of Education has appointed veteran educator William Brennan as Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2022.

With more than 22 years of educational experience, including 10 as a central office administrator, Brennan joins Massapequa from the Farmingdale School District, where he currently serves as the assistant superintendent for innovation and organizational development.

Through his years as an educator, he has served as a science teacher, professional developer, athletic coach, district administrator, leadership coach and adjunct professor.

During his time in Farmingdale, Brennan has achieved innumerable accomplishments, including leading the district through a comprehensive strategic planning process, adding many new and innovative course offerings, expanding opportunities for students to pursue Advanced Placement and college-level courses, and creating systems for real-time access to academic and social-emotional learning support.

Brennan received his Doctor of Education from Fordham University.
