    is located along the headwaters of the Carmans River and adjacent to Prosser Pines Nature Preserve, making it a great camping location. The park covers 320 acres and has campsites with water and electric hookups. While camping in the park, head to the nature center to hike and enjoy some great photo ops.
  5. Hither Hills State Park – 164 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk, NY 11954  
    Hither Hills State Park
    campsites are so popular that early reservations are definitely recommended. The 189-site campground is on the ocean, so you can count on amazing views and a sandy beach to relax and play on. You can also visit the “walking dunes” of Napeague Harbor, which are on the park’s eastern boundary. They’re four parabolic sand dunes that move 3.5 inches yearly, making them a unique type of landform worth visiting.
