Elected officials and business leaders are expected to join banking executives at a grand opening celebration Thursday for Wells Fargo’s newest Long Island branch.
Wells Fargo is hosting the event at the 3,550-square-foot building on .38 acres at 1020 Port Washington Blvd. in Port Washington, which was formerly occupied by Capital One Bank.
The Port Washington branch, which officially opened for business last month, is Wells Fargo’s 12th branch on Long Island.
To celebrate the grand opening, Wells Fargo will award a $50,000 grant to the United Way of Long Island in support of their Family Support Project program, which helps families remain in their homes, and children remain in their schools.
“We are so excited to open our newest branch on Long Island,” Silvia Lara, District Branch Network senior manager at Wells Fargo, said in a written statement. “Our New York branch expansion is designed to offer more resources to our customers across the state. This is another step forward in that commitment and we are thrilled to be part of the Port Washington community.”
The grand opening event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9. Lara is expected to be joined at the event by Wells Fargo Head of Branch Strategy and Market Growth Sophia Dadas, Wells Fargo Regional Executive Matt Ickes and Theresa Regnante, president and CEO of United Way of Long Island.
